Our Story

A message from the owner:

My name is Robbie, or Rob or Robert or Bobby, or Bobert!  Everyone calls me something different depending on our relationship.  I grew up in a small town.  While working as a Correctional Officer I started studying web-technologies as a hobby in hopes of eventually escaping a dark and negative job where the stress was impacting my mental health.

While trying to catch naps on a dirty prison floor on night shift, I returned to school full-time during the day and studied web design, then, as luck would have it, good and bad, depending on how you look at it, I was diagnosed with PTSD following the last trauma incident I was involved in while on duty.  I was told I could not return to my position, so now I run this company.

I have also spent time working for the Military Police and the Heavy Equipment Industry.  I started this particular project because I missed my childhood home that was in a very small pocket of the country and couldn’t find a shirt that represented it.

My wife and I have been together since our first jobs out of post-secondary education.  We both graduated the same program together not knowing each other and took the same positions within an indigenous community where we were warmly welcomed with kindness.  We are very grateful for the opportunity to be educated on the historical and current struggles of indigenous communities in this country through close relationships with community members.

Our lives together have taken us to live all over the country through military service and we have toured many others by way of  employment and vacation. We have experienced so many great little places and we have awesome memories of our time together that pop up when we see the names of these towns.  My main goal is to supply that warm sentimental feeling to my customers.

My roots come from the country.  Farmers, war vets, auto-workers to be specific.  Hard working people who endured a hard life to make sure my generation struggle slightly less.  These little towns mean a lot to people like them and I wanted to help represent them for America.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope I can make you or your friends and family smile through my designs and through putting these names on display.

Take Care,

Robbie @ Small Town Rag.

About our Garments and Design

All of our products are currently printed direct to garment (DTG and not heat transfers), mostly in America and shipped mostly from American soil by American workers.  However, we do have partners that work for us who are north of the border in Canada.  They help us to print and ship orders when we can’t keep up in our facility.  So if you see Canada on any packages, this would be why.  They help us keep our orders rolling out and in turn we help them.

The fabric we print on is produced by American Companies Gildan and Bella and Canvas due to feeling they were the best quality available at what we can afford to pay per unit.

Sure we could go to China for cheaper prices and sell a lower quality product, but we don’t really believe in that.

Most of the names we custom print won’t be found any other place online.

Please know that these garments are printed by the best industrial printers with the best technology available, they are not made by a “Cricut” machine that uses heat transfer and vinyl.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but there is a big difference in quality.

We are the equivalent to a small mom and pop store.  We are not a large foreign corporation.

We hope you really enjoy our products and that they bring many smiles to many faces while flooding you with warm memories.  This is the whole intention that was set when we started creating this website.

Take care and thank you for visiting.  Every order means a lot.

Here’s to more of those sunset skies and bonfire nights.
